Our cleaning system gives you multiple benefits step by step

1.   Inspection of the floor
We always recommend having a site survey to inspect hard floors before providing a quotation. This helps us to determine the best process for your specific floor and helps us to identify any possible limitations such as stain removal, any problems with grout and the surrounding areas that may need protection.

2.   Protection of the surrounding area
High pressure cleaning can cause splash back so where required we will use protection to make sure areas sensitive to this are protected.

3.   Vacuum/Sweep
Dry soiling is removed from the whole floor including all the edges and areas where there may be build up.

4.   Cleaning
A pre-spray specifically chosen for the type of flooring you have is applied and left to dwell. This emulsifies the surface soiling and removes any finish no longer required.

5.  Agitation and Rinsing
We then use a special roto brush or pad to agitate and release the soiling from the surface of the floor and extract using our powerful vacuum extraction equipment. Some floors are best left without an application of finish or sealant but for the majority we will recommend an appropriate sealant for your floor and move on to the application. Sometimes this process needs to be carried out more than once to get optimal results.
6.  Drying
The floor is then dried using specialist drying equipment.

7.   Application of finish
This step is essential to making sure your floor last as long as possible and looking at its best. The finish acts as a barrier to soiling and scuffing that can dull the look of your floor over time. Hard floor finishes come in a few different versions. Which finish is chosen depends on the type of flooring you have in your home or business, how much traffic the floor takes and the look you would like to achieve. Most commonly used are penetrating/impregnator sealers which allow natural hard floors to breath while at the same time blocking contaminates from entering the stone and causing a build up of dirt within. Topical sealers are mostly used and designed for resilient floors but are also used on natural stone. They are either strippable or permanent and almost all of these are water based made from polymers that can be easily removed with a compatible stripper. How many coats are applied will depend on the protection and sheen required.

8.   Curing/Drying time
Once the finish has been applied to the floor it will need a certain amount of time to cure/harden and dry. Each product has its own recommended curing time and we will advise you at the time of quotation what we expect this to be. A good guideline is anywhere from 2 - 4 hours. This can depend on the air flow and humidity of a room so we recommend the longer it is left the better.
